Welcome to the BLOGS of rthperformance
I wanted to create a platform where I could stay regularly connected—sharing updates, news about events I’ve spoken at, and even opportunities where you might be invited to take part. I also wanted a space to gradually share stories and reflections from my past, present, and future experiences.
I bring a wealth of experience across several areas:
-
In sport—both as a competitor and as a coach/trainer;
-
In business—running my own personal training studio, managing gyms and country clubs;
-
And in tourism—planning, building, and running a glamping retreat.
In the not-too-distant future, I also hope to launch a podcast to expand the conversation even further.
Although much of my journey has been well documented, the core of my sporting life has always revolved around “the list.” I haven’t completed the list just yet, but I’ve now experienced every type of challenge it contains. I created the list before I’d ever taken on my first event, and at the time, it represented what I believed to be the ultimate set of challenges—my personal benchmark.
These weren’t necessarily the biggest or longest events in the world, but they were the ones that, for me, symbolized what it meant to push limits and explore potential.
Here’s the list:
-
Ironman Triathlon
(2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike, 26.2-mile run) — ✅ Completed -
Double Iron Triathlon
(4.8-mile swim, 224-mile bike, 52.4-mile run) — ✅ Completed -
Triple Iron Triathlon
(7.2-mile swim, 336-mile bike, 78.6-mile run) — ✅ Completed -
Row Across an Ocean — ✅ Completed
-
Badwater Ultra Marathon
(135-mile run in Death Valley, 120°F/49°C heat) — ✅ Crewed and advised for (this was a double: 270 miles / 434 km) -
Arch to Arc
(Run from Marble Arch to Dover, swim the English Channel, then bike from Calais to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris) — ✅ Crewed, trained, and advised for -
RAAM (Race Across America – solo) — ✅ Trained and advised for; participated in Race Across Europe
-
100-mile (160 km) Continuous Run — ✅ Completed
-
Back-to-Back Marathons
(Multiple consecutive marathons) — ✅ Completed approximately 10+ -
Endurance Swim (20 miles or more) — 🚧 In progress (Completed up to 12 km so far)
I’ve been fortunate enough to experience some weird and wonderful things along the way. I’ve had the privilege of training and working with a professional tennis player who played on the grass courts at Wimbledon, as well as several Paralympians who went on to win multiple gold medals.
I’ve travelled the world competing in events myself, and I’ve built some incredibly rewarding businesses. Of course, there have been both successes and failures—though what counts as either is often a matter of perspective.
Some of the blogs and race reviews you’ll find here were written almost immediately after the events. Some are raw, some are unfiltered—but that’s part of the journey. It’s about honesty, reflection, and sharing my story.
The list of events I’ve taken part in is below, and I’ll be exploring them in more detail along the way

These challenges are more than just physical accomplishments—they’re the foundation of who I am, how I approach life, and what that journey has given back to me.
I’ll be blogging weekly, sharing videos, and when the podcast launches, it’ll be available right here for you to enjoy. I hope you find value in what I share. If you have questions or feedback, I’d love to hear from you.
Thanks for being here.
